Dear Dyet.
Any dictionary can provide a handful of definitions of the noun “dream”.
- a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep
- something notable for its beauty, excellence, or enjoyable quality
- a strongly desired goal or purpose
The latter two definitions have a clear connection, but, tell me, when and how did the psychological definition become linked with the other two?
I drank a little wine last night, and I was a little tired today.
Although correlation does not imply causation, my fatigue might have had something to do with the following facts:
- (a) I had no one with whom to share the bottle,
- (b) I did not want to store a half-empty bottle,
- (c) I did not want to waste half a bottle.

I rarely take midday naps, but I had one today.
And I dreamed of your voice.
